Seal it. Open it together.
Every order of a launch is locked until the same moment. Then all of them open at once and settle at one price. Nobody sees the book early, nobody gets in ahead of you.
In plain words: you say how much you want to spend, and nobody, not even us, can read it until the launch opens. Then everyone pays the same price per token.
Sealed orders can only be opened once the beacon signs their round. This is the real network, read from your browser right now.
On a launch, the fastest wins.
A normal token launch is a race. Whoever sees the pool first and sends the transaction first gets the cheapest tokens. Bots are built for exactly this, so they win it every time, and everyone else buys higher.
Everything is visible
Orders sit in public the moment they are sent. Anyone watching the chain can react to yours before it lands.
Speed beats conviction
Position in the block decides the price you pay. A better connection, a faster bot, a bundle: that is the whole edge.
The price walks away
On a curve, every buyer pays more than the one before. Being a few seconds late can cost double.
A clam only opens when the tide says so.
A CLAM launch is a short window. Orders go in sealed, a public clock decides the moment they open, and one calculation prices all of them.
Open
The launch fixes a supply, an optional reserve price, and the exact round of the beacon at which it opens.
Seal
You write your budget and your price limit, encrypt them to that round, and deposit. Your order is unreadable.
Wait
Until the round exists, nobody can read a single order. Not other bidders, not bots, not the launch team.
Open
The beacon signs the round. From that instant anyone can decrypt every order, in the same second, no one first.
One price
One calculation sets the price. Everyone filled pays it. What did not fit goes back to you.
The lock is real cryptography
Orders are timelock encrypted: the key does not exist until the drand network signs round R. drand is run by independent operators (the League of Entropy), and a round needs a threshold of them to sign. CLAM uses the reference tlock library for this and adds nothing to the cryptography.
What you have to trust: that those operators do not collude to publish early, and that the network keeps running. The full trust model →
The price is a calculation, not a decision
Everyone commits a budget and may set a limit. The clearing price is the one where the money committed by everyone who accepts it buys exactly the supply. Same inputs, same price, whatever the order they arrive in. It is tested on hundreds of random books.
Hiding orders is not new. Doing it without a second step is.
Launches can already try to be fair. Each approach gives something up.
| Normal launch or curve | Commit, then reveal | CLAM. | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Can others see your order first? | Yes, it is public | No, only a hash | No, it is encrypted |
| Do you have to come back? | No | Yes: a second transaction to reveal | No: anyone can open it for you |
| If a bidder never reveals? | Not applicable | They can bend the book by staying silent | Their order opens anyway |
| Who gets the best price? | Whoever is fastest | Depends on the rules | Nobody: one price for all |
| Edge from speed after sealing? | Large | None on content, some on timing | None: the book opens at one instant |
You do not have to believe the result.
When a book settles, CLAM produces a certificate: every sealed order as it was posted, and the result. Open it anywhere. Your browser (or the command line) re-opens every order with the public beacon, re-runs the pricing, and compares, to the last unit. If one number was touched, it says which.
What exists today, and what does not.
No launch is live and nothing on this site holds funds. This is where the project actually is.
working Today
- Sealing and opening orders against the live drand network
- Single-price clearing, tested on 400 random books
- Certificates and independent verification
- This web playground and a command line
building Next
- The Solana program: escrow, order commitments, settlement
- Wallet connection in the app
- A devnet test launch
- An audit before any real funds
not yet Not live
- No launch can be joined for real
- Nothing here sends or holds SOL
- No sale of any token happens through this site
$CLAM
$CLAM is the community token of the CLAM project.
It is not required to use CLAM. The app, the command line and the engine work without it, and every sealed order and certificate stays free to make and to check. Nothing here is financial advice.
